General Comments

I used the website to book several hire cars during 2007 and more recently in February 2008. The site compares dozens of car hire firms which saved me heaps of time. They dont hire cars themselves but let you compare lots of companies in one search. Previously I had tried going direct to firms I knew in the area and trying some other travel portal like Lastminute. Surprisingly when going through car rentals the price was even cheaper then going direct to the hire firm, so I used them to make several bookings.

I hired a Focus, Corsa, and Peugeot 307 over several months. The Ford Focus from Auriga Crown was the best. Cars were all in excellent condition, but I found the customer service top class after having Spanish women smash into the side of the car - had a replacement car the same day without any hidden extras costs.

I made a car reservation at Marseille, France a week ago from Carrentals. The confirmation came from Dollar with their 800 number. Having been renting cars in last several decades, I never thought there could be any problem. After I arrived at the Marseille airport, I went to ADA becasue I was told ADA is Dollar's representative at the Marseille airport. But the ADA agent did not even look at my reservation carefully, and declared that she did not have my reservation from Dollar. I had to call the Dollar by expensive international calls. Of course, Dollar said yes, I did have the reservaton with them, and the reservation had been forwarded to ADA. The Dollar agent even called the ADA. But the ADA agent insisted that she could not find the reservation. Suddenly she said if I could forward her the reservation confirmation email, it will be fine for her to give me the car. As she declared there was no internet and long distance phone in the ADA office, I had to walk back to the terminal and paid 10euro for the internet. But when I returned to the office, she changed her mind and declared no car available. As I pointed to her a long row of cars parked in ADA lots, she said I could have a car with doubling the price. I asked her a simple question if ADA represents Dollar. Her answer is "yes." Then I asked her if my reservation confirmation came from Dollar. She said "yes." Finally I asked her if you said "yes" to those two questions, can you respect my reservation. Now she said "I do not represent Dollar." I had to call back to Dollar. Now Dollar was back up and started to say I should call Carrentals. It was hopeless. I went back to internet and booked another car from Eurocar. Everything went smoothly. After I came back and got on internet, I saw an email from Carrentals to cancel my reservation!!! So two thumbs down for Dollar, ADA and Carrentals. I do not know what kind of business relationship between these three companies. They cannot be trusted!!!

Came across this site when I searched in Google, it was the only one in the three pages of results giving me a price comparator, so I went this this booking service. It was quite useful actually because it showed exactly the types of cars their prices and the company, so I knew exactly what I was getting.

In the end I booked an Avis car for collection in Bristol, there was no problems, car was new and clean, staff helpful, took about 30 minutes before we were on our way, and no problems when we took it back. No billing issues, got confirmation emails immediately with customer service details etc.

I used them again last week, since I noticed I'd marked them up in my browser favourites.
